Stretton House Campsite

A quiet, relaxed site ideal for a stopover or a base for exploring Manchester and Liverpool. Offering a back to basics camping experience, this quiet site welcomes families and dogs and is a great spot for those visiting the Creamfields festival, just ten minutes away.

There are two grass fields with level non electric grass pitches measuring a spacious 15m x 15m. Each suitable for tents, campervans, motorhome and campervans. Please note that there must be at least 10m between pitches.

You'll be just a ten minute walk to two pubs and under a five minute walk from the lovely Hollies Farm shop, great if you want to pick up some local produce. There are lots of countryside walks and great public transport links for days out. You'll also be ten minutes from Pickmere Lake and 20 minutes from Manley Mere.

Spend your evenings sitting around the campfire, toasting marshmallows and sharing stories. Enjoy a peaceful night's sleep with a quiet policy between 10pm and 8am.

Dogs are welcome onsite but please note that breeds and crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act are not accepted.

Campfires and BBQs are welcome.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

This site has no on-site shower facilities.

When it comes to camping with farm shops, ice cream farms and walking or cycling trails nearby, Stretton House Campsite is certainly in the running. This quiet, family friendly site is in the grounds of the 400-year-old Stretton House surrounded by the Cheshire countryside with handy transport links nearby and outdoor activities in no short supply… that includes things like alpaca walking, golf or Manley Mere’s watersports haven (a 20-minute drive away for the latter). Beautiful Tatton Park (15 minutes drive) Marbury Country Park (5 minutes drive) Arley Hall (5 minutes drive) Historic Chester (20 minutes drive) along with an array of shops in the village of Stockton Heath (5 minutes drive), Cheshire Oaks and The Trafford Centre (both 20 minutes drive).

You’ll have your pick of two fields, both with car parking by the pitch free of charge and dogs allowed. This is really a back to basics camping site, as there are facilities including toilets, a water standpipe and a Tennis Court, Dog Walking Park and Logs for sale on site (subject to booking/fee). You’ll have permission to start up a barbecue or firepit too (subject to the correct safety measures).

When you’re ready to get going, the friendly owners will be willing to help out however possible and suggest possible days out, which may include fishing or walking at Pickmere Lake (10 minutes’ drive), visiting a local ice cream farm (within 10 minutes’ drive of the site) or going to the local golf course (five minutes’ drive).

In the way of food, there’s a farm shop just two minutes’ walk away from the site where you’ll be able to get your hands on local produce. Pubs aren’t far away either – there are four within 15 minutes’ walk of the site.
